More About Elizabeth Carrillo

I am a bilingual and bicultural Mexican American voice actress based in Los Angeles. CA. I was raised in a Spanish-speaking household where it was practically illegal to speak anything else. Eventually I learned English when I started kindergarten. Early exposure to both languages was essential for me to develop neutral accents in both languages. And not to mention, flawless code switching! (Yass queen!) My college education was in Clinical Nutrition and Spanish. I took an entire course on Don Quixote…it was awesome. Not only am I a voice actor, I currently work as a lactation consultant at a hospital. My work experience in the medical field lends to my comfort and ability to read and properly pronounce complicated medical jargon. Fun fact, I worked at Trader Joe’s for almost 10 years and you know those cashiers can talk to you about anything! (I did.) For me, voice acting was a career unattainable for a first generation child born to immigrant parents. I decided to pursue a “safe” career in healthcare. The 2020 global pandemic allowed me to reassess my life’s passion and finally say yes to voice acting. I have been training ever since. I have a home recording studio and am in close proximity to recording studios for any preferred in-studio sessions. I am your Latina best friend who sprinkles Spanish words into every conversation in a way that even makes YOU feel bilingual. I’m bouncy and youthful, but can also deliver warm and sincere reads that feel like hugs. I can also assist with script translation and make sure the content is culturally appropriate.

Sustainable Organizations Elizabeth Carrillo Supports

With my 1% this year, I am planning to donate to:

Sante D’Or Foundation: A no-kill animal adoption center in Los Angeles. It is primarily run by volunteers who handle the day to day operations in the facility (feeding, cleaning and providing love and attention to the rescue cats). The facility also conducts TNR (trap and release) a humane way of managing the feral cat population to help reduce the amount of feral or community cats by trapping them humanely and spaying/neutering them. Cats also receive vaccines.

CHIRLA: The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) was founded in 1986. CHIRLA is a California leader with national impact made of diverse immigrant families and individuals who act as agents of social change to achieve a world with freedom of mobility, full human rights, and true participatory democracy. CHIRLA’s mission is to achieve a just society fully inclusive of immigrants.

The Restoration Project: The Restoration Project (TRP) is an innovative national response mechanism that addresses the nutritional needs of newborns who have lost their mothers due to pregnancy-related deaths.
A partnership between the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) and Kimberly Seals Allers, this initiative builds a nationwide network to collect and distribute donor milk to medically and economically vulnerable populations.Human milk is critical for infant health. TRP ensures that infants impacted by childbirth-related maternal loss receive compassionate care and immediate access to human milk, the best first food for an infant’s health and development.
