More About Melissa Del Toro Schaffner
Hi! Melissa here. I am a 2024 Society of Voice Arts and Sciences Award Nominee in the category of “Outstanding Animation or Gaming Demo – Best Voiceover” Having been nicknamed “Sarah Bernhardt” as a child, I have a natural flair for acting and the dramatic. I love creating unforgettable characters and have voiced hundreds of unique characters for my former award-winning short story science fiction audio drama podcast, Untold Tales, as well as several audiobooks on Audible and the very popular children’s STEM podcast, Who Smarted?!. My background is in Electrical Engineering and Project Management, so the technical aspect of Voiceover comes very naturally to me. My other hats include mom, former Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Contestant, and bucket list world traveler. When I’m not getting busy towards my Voiceover Dreams, I’m playing Roblox with my 9 year old daughter, plotting miracles with my husband, or feeding our chunky chihuahua, Rory and our bossy Australian White’s tree frog, Kermit.
Sustainable Organizations Melissa Supports
I will donate to Ocean Cleanup because Water is Life. “Our cleaning technologies are deployed around the world as we conduct the largest cleanup in history. For over ten years, The Ocean Cleanup has been researching, extracting, and monitoring plastic pollution in oceans and rivers globally – with tens of millions of kilograms removed to date.”
I will also be donating to the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. The National Park Foundation generates private support and builds strategic partnerships to protect and enhance America’s national parks for present and future generations. Not only has our National Park Service done outstanding work in protecting our precious natural lands from corporate greed and private ownership, they have also fought tirelessly for Democracy and sacrificed so much to keep our parks safe, beautiful and wild. “Our national parks tell the story of America and the story of us. From our geography, our lands, our culture, and our people, they embody the essence of a nation forged by the powerful forces of nature, the chronicles of conflict, a spirit of innovation, and an enduring vision of democracy for all. They document our country’s milestones and hold them in perpetuity for the enjoyment and enlightenment of generations to come.” I am committed to supporting organizations that are committed to supporting our collective future.
